More Mindy

Just as in a personal situation I was involved in recently, the more I read about the sad case of Mindy McCready, the worse it gets and the sadder I feel. I read a news report yesterday about Mindy's appearance in court to testify against William McKnight, the man who nearly beat her to death back in May, and it just boggles my mind.

McKnight ended the assault by apologizing, which is typical. He just couldn't believe what he'd done. He got her a towel. He called an ambulance. What a great guy. McCready made a statement at the time, saying she loved McKnight and felt sorry for him. My God, that's so sick. McKnight had wanted his charges reduced, but the judge sensibly denied the request. You belong in prison, McKnight. I will follow this case, and I hope to see you get what you deserve.

Oh, Mindy. PLEASE protect yourself. PLEASE stay away from him. PLEASE get some help. See a therapist. Get into a support group. Address your own addiction issues. Figure out what it is about YOU that keeps you trapped in this relationship. He doesn't love you. You deserve so much better.
